Prof. dr hab. n. med. Andrzej Wojtowicz

Andrzej Wojtowicz Prof. Andrzej Wojtowicz is a graduate of the Medical Academy in Warsaw, later the Medical University of Warsaw. Prof. Andrzej Wojtowicz worked at the Biostructure Center of the Medical University of Warsaw, at the Department of Histology and Embryology, then at the Central Tissue Bank, where he obtained the title of doctor of medical sciences and habilitation. He has been on many foreign scholarships, including: Universite d'Orleans in France, then Univ. North Carolina - Chapell Hill Dental School, Dept. of Periodontology, Catholic Univ.Louven, Belgium and others. He was the director of the NYU - Dental school in Poland, and co-organized the scientific exchange of many implantologists. He is the supervisor of over 40 doctoral theses, the author of over 300 publications, and a lecturer at over 300 national and foreign congresses. He is/was a member of the Polish Dental Association, the European Society of Tissue Banks, IADR, where in 2002 he appeared at the main session as an invited speaker. He is the honorary president of PTCHjU (PTCHSiS), the Polish Association of Dental Implantology OSIS, a member of the European Center for Stem Cell Therapy, a former member of the board of EDI, a former member of the board of EAO.
Scientific interests of prof. Wojtowicz is research on the physiology and pathology of tooth eruption, bone tissue remodeling in physiological pathological conditions, drug interactions with bone tissue metabolism, and bone substitute preparations. He conducts particularly intensive research on the possibilities of implant-prosthetic rehabilitation, and in recent years, rescue implant-prosthetics in patients with bone/maxillary atrophy and many systemic diseases.
Prof. Andrzej Wojtowicz is a provincial consultant in the field of dental surgery and a court expert.
